BBQ Day 1!

The smoker is rolling and the pork butts are on, soon the ribs, then the beer can chicken!

New! Flip Flops Your Way

I’m so excited for the new flip flops we just got in.  They are called Maggiez and you can customize them to your taste.  We have a basic black, brown or black platform high quality, comfortable, flip flop and then you can add on extra straps.  They are reversible, so you get 2 new pair of shoes for $8.00 and the designs range from animal prints to preppy stripes to martini glasses to solids.  Very cute!  You can also change the look of a button on the shoe to customize further.

Come on in and check them out!

Dinner at Summerhill Farm!

Starting June 5th we will be serving real BBQ Friday and Saturday nights!

We are slow cooking ribs, chickens, and pulled pork in a smoker with hickory, oak, and charcoal. All our meat is dry rubbed with secret spices for the perfect BBpork-buttchickenQ flavor.ribs

The Treehouse is Open!

The Treehouse is open for the season!  We found so much beautiful clothing at market this year, we figured, why wait until May to share it and opened early.  Given the great turnout we had yesterday, our first day, I think we were right.  We have some great new lines - Ethyl jeans and carpris, beautiful patterned Impulse tees, gorgeous Alison Sheri skirts, sporty Royal Robbins travel clothes, and fun Aventura.  Lots of separates and of course, jewelry!

It’s great to see our friends returning - it’s a sign of spring.

Anyone who ordered wine or didn’t get to pick up their favorite on Friday we are fully stocked again so please stop in and we will take care of you.

Chef in the House… Again!

Grilling with the Gang!Wow, what a fun night!

We just finished up my second time doing Chef in the House and had a great time.  The theme this time was “Grilling with the Gang”.  We did everything out on the gazebo at Summerhill Farm and got a beautiful night to do it.  Thanks to my friends and family for filling out the gang portion and even helping out a with the cooking whenever I needed extra hands.

Here is the menu we enjoyed:

Minnesota ceviche with fresh crappie from my buddy Bob

Cedar planked salmon with red chili teriyaki sauce
Baby red potatoes with fresh herbs
Grilled vegetables

Drunken pineapple and bananas with ice cream

Full recipe details will be posted at http://www.arvig.com/video/locallinc/chefinthehouse.html

Thanks Duane and Randy!

We’re Open!!

Well, after our usual crazy April, which was made even crazier by all that snow, we opened on May 9.  April is fun because that’s when our new merchandise starts coming in.  It’s like Christmas every day as we open the boxes and remember all those orders, some dating all the way back to the previous October.  There were lots of oohs and aahs in the warehouse, and coming from our staff who has seen it all, I take that as a sign that we have some great new goodies.

Some of our new clothing lines include Jag jeans, Paradiso resort wear, Sun Moda resort wear, Nickky tops, Nic and Zoe fashion wear, Baggaline bags and lots more!  We paid special attention to finding some really good looking plus size clothing whenever we could - in lines like David Brooks, Produce, and Alex Evening.  They’re mixed in with the other clothing, so be sure to ask for help if you’re looking for something in particular in your sizes.

We have tons of new lines in home, garden and gift items.   Some favorites are Mario Batelli’s high quality cookware in great colors,  a new line of spicy foods called Scorned Women (that gives you a clue to just how spicy) and some fabulous heart shaped massage tools that are so easy you can give them to a child and get a GREAT back massage (I’m putting my sons to work on that).

I’ll post some photos next time to share some of our great looking displays.
